We, at Madrassah Anwar-ul-Islam have prided ourselves with providing Islamic Knowledge to the Muslims of Luton since the 1970s. We are committed to ensure high level of education including morals and values that Islam teaches. Not only do we provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment but we promote respect and tolerance for all religions and beliefs. All our staff, students, visitors and volunteers are treated equally, regardless of their background or gender.
At The Madrassah Anwar-ul-Islam, not only do we provide teachings of Quran with Tajweed but we provide Islamic studies also. Our aim is not only to teach our children Quran but to teach them the meaning of Islam.
Our students are as young as 5 and we teach them in the Madrassah up till the age of 16, then they can attend the adult classes we hold to further their education.
We hold two sessions every weekday. Session 1 starts at 4.30pm till 5.50pm and session 2 starts at 6pm till 7.20pm. For those students that cannot attend during the week, we offer weekend classes-Saturday and Sunday 10.30am till 12pm.
We also cater for one to one tuition at weekends. Please contact the Madrassah Admin on 01582 250986 option 3 (between 4pm and 7:30pm) for more information.
The Madrassa also offers Urdu classes. These classes are run on the weekend- Saturday or Sunday 10am till 11am. Our Urdu classes are very popular.
What We Teach
We teach a wide range of courses, such as:
Quran with Tajweed
Tajweed consists of the correct pronunciation of the Arabic alphabet, along with understanding and implementation of science of reciting the Quran. Students are taught to recite Quran with the correct Tajweed pronunciation. We expect all our students to read the Quran correctly and fluently by the time they complete their studies. Our students are also taught to memorise short chapters of the Quran.
Fiqh (Purification & Method of Salah)
Our students are not only taught how to make Wudu but we teach the reasons behind making Wudu, what nullifies Wudu and methods of Ghusal and necessitates of Ghusal.
Salah is one of the pillars of Islam. As a Muslim it is very important to pray your daily prayers. Not only do we teach our students how to perform your prayer but we teach the meaning behind each action of the prayer.
Aqeedah (Islamic Beliefs)
Our students are not only taught Quran and Tajweed but are taught Islamic studies. Everyone should have a basic understanding of Islam. We teach the 5 Pillars, the Kalimah’s, 7 articles of faith, Imam Bajuri’s epistle on tawheed and then going on to Aqeedah Tahawiyya.
Enrichment
Character and manners are a big part of Islam. We want our students to be a beautiful reflection of Muslims so we teach Islamic manners.
Seerah (The life of the Prophet)

Fees
The fee for students is £20 each month. Fees are paid at the start of each month.
If 3 siblings attend the Madrassah at the same time, then we offer all 3 for £50. If 4 or more siblings attend, then the fourth child is free.
The fees are fixed for each month and no refund will be given due to lack of attendance on the part of the child. The fees are fixed for every month including those in which children are given madrassah holidays.
